An Earthly Wine Melt

Rhein and Mosel: two streams that each has travelled through major wine growing country before they meet here, at the “Deutsche Eck”, the German corner, in Koblenz.

I was up in a cable car and against the sun so my pictures don’t show the amazing spectacle that the blue-greyish water of the Rhein conflates with the brownish water of the Mosel (probably due to bad weather further to the west).

  1. My daughter-in-law is from the Mosel area and her family have a Weingut. I was there for my son’s wedding, a wonderful area. I travelled there by train, changing trains in Koblenz after leaving the Rhein to travel into the Mosel area. I remember the end station of the train would eventually had been Trier, although it was a few years ago and cannot remember all the details.
