2017 was not an easy year for wine in the Alsace. Frost in spring and a very early harvest resulted in low quantity but good quality. Overall, 2017 was a good vintage.

Actually, Sue, don’t tell Elke, but I’m not that fond of Riesling anyway ….

Yup, a red would be great. But beer? I’ve never understood it. Tastes of soap to me.

I never liked beer until we returned from Saudi Arabia. Now I usually prefer it to wine, except occasional forays into red wine depending on the food.

A good Alsace, Riesling, bone dry, that’s for me

It has to be dry. Sweet wine is an abomination! 😁

As long as it tastes good, I don’t care about the vintage. Perusing the comments, I’ll weigh in with: agree to no sweet wine, agree to preferring red (although in the hot, hot Arizona summers, a dry, cold white is perfect, or a rosé; agree to liking beer, porters or stouts for me. 🙂
